To Drs. Guy Martin and Mueni wa Muiu, faculty members in the Department of Social Sciences on the recent publication of their new book, A New Paradigm of the African State: Fundi wa Afrika. The book “offers a historical, multidisciplinary perspective on African political systems and institutions, ranging from Antiquity (Egypt, Kush and Axum) to the present with particular focus on their destruction through successive exogenous processes including the Atlantic slave trade, imperialism, colonialism and neo-colonialism or globalization.” In addition to their joint effort, congratulations are also in order for Mueni wa Muiu on the publication of her book on South Africa titled The Pitfalls of Liberal Democracy and Late Nationalism in South Africa.
