The work of 20 graduating art majors from Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) will be exhibited in WSSU’s Diggs Gallery this spring from March 23 to May 5 with an opening reception scheduled for March 30 from 5 until 7 p.m.

The reception and exhibit are free and open to the public and the Diggs Gallery is located on the lower level of the O’Kelly Library on the campus of WSSU.

Highlighting the creative accomplishments of the 2012 seniors from the Fine Arts department, this year’s exhibition features a wide range of work including animation, digital art, graphic design, illustration, painting, drawing, sculpture, photography and mixed media.  “The show’s high caliber not only demonstrates the hard work and determination of these graduating students, but also reflects their lifelong passion for the arts,” said Belinda Tate, Diggs Gallery director.

The senior thesis exhibit marks the culmination of the students’ fine arts studies which requires them to submit a portfolio of work and share the responsibilities of implementing all aspects of the exhibition.  In May and December, they will graduate with a Bachelors of Arts in Art, with a concentration in Studio Art or Computer Graphics and Animation.

The following students will be participating in the exhibition: Cameron J. Aikens, Jamal C. Bell, Nathan Borkowski, Brandon R. Coley, Lynwood D. Cox, Deante’ C. Douglas, Josh Humphrey, Brenton J. Lewis, Shayla M. Locke, Jemel D. McCalister, Lakesha McNeil, Bailey A. Miles, Aaron A. Newell-Tutu, Jae Pitt, Kolin J. Robinson, Gary M. Rodgers, Antwain J. Short, Chanice X. Stone,
Wesley A. Walden, and Latoya S. Warren.
