Faculty, staff, students and community leaders all took part in the groundbreaking for a new residence hall.
Winston-Salem State University broke ground Friday, June 15, on a $10 million residence hall.
The new building will help meet the need for more housing for the university’s requirement for first- and second-year students to live on campus, spokesman Aaron Singleton said in a news release.
The building will have 44,000 square feet with 227 beds and will feature a two-tower pod concept, he said.
Each floor of each tower will hold 16 double-occupancy student rooms, two shared bathrooms and a common living space, he said. Learn more here.
